Younger workers, they cost less and produce more- Or do they?

I wonder what survey was done and what out of touch persons or organization did the study. Maybe this was a survey, graded, compared or summarized on some type of scale or average.

In my experience, many younger workers I had the experience of working with, think inside the box, are afraid to tale a chance when all the facts and pertinent information is in front of then and they will punch the clock when it’s time to go. This is not to bash the younger worker, it’s my opinion and experience as a former younger workers, who is now much more educated and experienced.

Since the explosion of social networking sites, younger workers seem to be more concerned about the new followers they have and who is doing what on Facebook. When it comes to staying late or coming in early, many younger workers have valid reasons why they will not be in on the weekend and why they couldn’t make it in early. There are plenty of responsible, productive and motivated youth, who are on a mission to prove they have what it takes to perform the job and there are just as many who will only do enough to get by and hope their supervisor doesn’t realize they’ve been shirking their responsibility.

When other managers and co-workers have to do a task over aging because it was done improperly by another who is inexperienced and who is only there to collect a paycheck; does a company really save money in wages or production costs.

Nothing beats experience. You can have a degree from a prestigious university and yet lack the skill to inspire and lead people. Such is the case of many younger workers; they’re educated, driven and will do things by the book. However, when it comes to leadership, Manu younger workers lack experience. Life experience and the proper application of what you know, can not be taught in a classroom. Something’s, you simply must experience or something come by allowing oneself be be taught by another, who has traveled the path you are about to embark upon.

How unfortunate, that we live in a culture, a day and a time in which many younger workers lack the interest and the patience to learn from the more season worker and many seasoned workers lack the patience and interest to share with or teach the younger, it’s a circle that seemingly has no end.
