Wait on it.
The body of Christ is made up of many members. The church, is made up of many born again believers of whom God have given gifts and talents to. These gifts and talents are not for entertainment purposes, but they are for serving the body of Christ. Do all members have the same office? No, do all have the gift of teaching or preaching? No. Each members of the body of Christ has a function and a purpose. We often hear our functions and purposes referred to as gifts.
Every now and them, I think many believers get so caught up on the or gifts, they think their gift is far superior than anyone. The believer that prophesies will need to partake of the gift of healing or benefit from someones giving. In Romans the 12th chapter, Paul urges the saints at Rome (Romans 1:7) to present them selves as a living and holy sacrifice (Romans 12:1)I would like to fast forward to the sixth verse in which Paul says: …Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly (Romans 12:6)
What is your gift? Exercise it according to the grace given you! Each one of us has a purpose for being here, each one has a purpose in the body of Christ. Some people can give, some can pray for others (intercede), some can exhort, some will exhort via a blog, some will go and visit. The gifts in the body of Christ are there to encourage other believers.
To wait on your gift simply means to be ready and available, not to sit by idle for some special moment. Waiting of your gift is to serve in the capacity of your gift according to the faith that God has given you. Serve in love, don’t let you love be Hippocratic. Many saints will server to simply be seen or only serve when they can get a pat on the back. Someone is waiting to be set free, encouraged and inspired by your gift!
It’s your gift, so wait on it!
