Do you hear that? Its so quiet, you can hear a pin drop, Oh..Its the silence of the sheep. It seems that many believers are afraid to speak up when they see inappropriate behavior or hear something taught in Bible study. Its one thing to be mistaken when you teach something, but to simple implement a passage of scripture as doctrine is totally another. When Gods people do a careful examination of the scripture and compare it to what most evangelicals teach, you will find error. The problem is when believers see it, know it and will keep silent on the matter because they feel its not their place to ‘speak against the pastor or leader”. Waite a minuet, when your manager on the job is mistaken or out of line, we know the correct words and tone to use in explaining our position (and often we get positive results). What a sad day in Christianity when you cannot approach a Apostle, Prophet, Teacher, Pastor, Missionary, Evangelist, ect when their teaching and conduct clearly violates scripture and sound teaching. Is it any wonder why our churches have run a muck with adultery, vanity, lasciviousness, malice, theft, lying (hmm sounds like the modern day Corinthian church)
Who are you to speak out? Someone that knows the truth, that’s who. I realize what the scripture says when it states: “rebuke not an elder…” 1 Timothy 5:1 (Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. NLT ).
Some leaders are young, and what they do lack is experience, while it is true that many leader were called to their position and many were appointed by man and others just went into the ministry. People of God, you still have that spirit that God gave you and the Bible that you examine daily, use the both in your discernment and approach in simply encouraging someone to teach, speak and conduct themselves in the manner that exemplifies a life in Jesus Christ.
