The Law of Reciprocity
We’ve all heard of it before, “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” or ” you give something and you get something.” Have you ever felt disgusted or wondered why the nice guy finishes last? You spend your life and effort in living a life pleasing unto God, only to witness the one who is faking their salvation and they prosper beyond your dreams. You tell the truth on your job and get fired, you co-worker lies and get promoted.
It seems to be so backwards when the saints are persecuted and the non believers prospers. Its definitely true that in this life we as believers have trouble ( John 16:33 ). I thought I would post an article about this because many believers seem to be overly spiritual to dialogue about it, but their are many other believers would like to vent about it without being made out to be some carnal saint.
So, why does it seem that, people and or Christians that live in the gray area prosper? As I was venting to a friend about this very thing, as always (for the most part) I went to see what the bible had to say. There are many times we want answers and we don’t want to hear about what the bible says ( I know the feeling, I still have to deal with my old self to keep me under subjection).
When you plant apple seeds, you get an apple tree; when you plant grape seeds, you get grape vines which hear grapes. When you sow (plant) to your flesh, you will reap of your flesh corruption (Galatians 6:7-9).
The scripture tells us, to be not deceived, God is not mocked, what every you sow “That” (the same thing you sow) shall you reap. It is this law of reciprocity that we seem to forget about. If the things you do, are for the benefit of your selfish desires; since these are of the flesh you will reap those corrupt things. Preparing yourself for the pleasure of this world outside the ark of safety will benefit your flesh temporarily.
When you sow (plant) to your spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting, so, for this purpose, do not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. We faint, lose spiritual conscience when we see the unrighteous flourish and Gods people falter.
Continue to be lead by the spirit of God, be content with the things that you have, look unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.
