The Bible makes many references to the Kingdom of God yet we rarely hear it talked about or preached about in the Body of Christ. There are many reasons for this, but the one that comes to mind most readily is that as believers we do not know exactly what it means when we refer to the “Kingdom of God”.
We are citizens of the Kingdom, and yet we are not able to understand what the true meaning of the Kingdom is. The Bible makes reference to the fact that the Kingdom Of God is within us. “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20. That gives us the impression that whatever it means, the Kingdom is able to be present within our being. Can we see it, hear it, feel it or even touch it? In another text, the Bible says, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:16-18) This passage clearly verifies that the Kingdom is not sustenance that we put on the inside of our bodies but it yields the fruits of righteousness, peace and joy. So our lives demonstrate these three characters as a result of the Kingdom being on the inside of us.
Finally, in all of the references and parables that explain or give analogies of what the Kingdom of God is, the most profound scripture gives support to my earlier statement. This scripture says “And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.” (Luke 8:10)
The Kingdom of God is a mystery, yet as believers we are able to know with certainty its meaning and purpose in our lives. We can ask our Father to give us an understanding of the Kingdom of God and we can begin a journey into his Word to receive revelation of his Kingdom. Don’t waste another day, ask God today, to give you the revelation of his Kingdom. After all he did say, “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven………”
