The Illusion of Church Growth

The Illusion of Church Growth
-Shifting Assets-

A basic study of scripture will show that the Body of Christ (The Church) is made up of Believers, also referred to as Saints, Christians. The church is not a building but a people, the ecclesia; the only way to become apart of this church is to be born again. (John 3:3) When the people of God gather them selves together in one place for the purposes of worshiping God this is called Fellowship.

I believe this is where churches get side tracked; If I move, relocate (and I already know Jesus as Lord and Savior) I am already a member of the Church. If this process happens 5-10 times a month and all the new people are born again believers is that really church growth?

Where are the new converts? The church has become satisfied with the illusion of Growth in the body of Christ when the reality is, these members just relocated or decided to

fellowship in another location.

There is little or now sense of urgency to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the non-believer because the assets (Evangelist, Teachers, Preachers, Deacons) that God has, have Shifted to another Location giving the illusion to leadership of Church Growth.
