The fading of sincerity in churches.
Religion seems to have evolved into that ritual one does to appease God. I can recall the many conversation with believers (those in the church) who attend worship services out of a certain fear or sense of obligation. Could it be that our present time and advancements in today’s society prevent us from truly experiencing true loyalty and duty to the God we say we serve. Where is the service? Most believer they are serving God by singing in the choir, but when the singing is over, they feel relieved as if they met their quota of service. There are many who flock to the church every Sunday and they lift up their hands to heaven and yet have no love, compassion or empathy for their fellow worshiper standing or sitting next to them. I realize that a statement as such is only reflective of a minority and not the majority of believers. Its the minority that seems to greatly influence onlookers and damage the name of Christianity and the character that should precede and follow it.
As many of church members light up in the parking lots of churches across America, I could only assume they think Christianity or the Christian witness starts or ends in the parking lot. What happens in the church seems to stay in the church and what the world sees is the daily transitions made by some believers from day to day. Transitions? Yes, transitions from saved to carnal and back again. No wonder they are confused and don’t want to attend a worship service. Anybody can praise the Lord, but only believers can worship Him.
Sincerity seems to be reserved for those …who are sincere about their faith in God through Jesus Christ. You can tell those whom are sincere, for the most part they are the ones that are least popular in the company of believers, they are pointed at for what they stand for, they are labeled as fanatical for having and maintaining a Godly standard. Sure, you may fond some people that are so entrenched in their belief, they are no longer sensible or practical.
But, God does have some people whom are well balanced in their faith and they are practical, biblical people. You will know them when you see them, they have a genuine love for Gods people, people, hurting people and they are not defined or confined to the four walls of a place the rest of us call church.
