Thats just how it is.
Some people will not attend your church, some people will not listen to your message of salvation nor will they change the way they live, act or think.
That is just the way it is, believers should not get caught up in battling with people over religion, my church is the way, my bishop is the best, our Sunday school teachers are the best, we have the best choir and much more. I realize that many believers are passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ but you cannot make someone believe or change because you say.Sometime when they reject, they are rejecting your approach. I realize what scripture says when it states when they reject you, they reject me, but oftentimes I believe ‘WE GET IN THE WAY”. We have all these titles (The Apostle, Eee-vannn-gggelist.., The Reverend Dr. Bishop) and your title means nothing to someone on the way to hell and knows it.
Don’t take it personal when someone ridicules you for your faith, we don’t have the time to feel insulted and slighted, while you are hurting they have moved on and forgotten all about you. This is why we need to fellowship with believers and we must stick together to encourage each other. Churches traditionally say; I Love you, with the Love of the Lord”. What on earth does that mean? Just love people according to the ability and the capacity that God has given you through His Son Jesus Christ. Wow, that was mouthful, but I like that better.
Let your love be without dissimulation (Romans 12:9). To many church goers are Hippocratic in their love. They have a hidden motive or agenda and they hide behind their positions, their faith and how they talk to you (more like through you) along with their demeanor, tone and body language which tells the true story.
When someone has ruffled your feathers you need not boldly say: “I’M GONNA PRAY FOR YOU” , this really suggest that you really need the prayer because you were stressed by that person (and they usually know it); here is another one, when someone gets under your skin (yes saints, this happens with us too!), don’t say: “HAVE A BLESSED DAY” especially when you don’t mean it; your tone clearly says; I wish they were smitten by the mighty hand of God and they reached for my help only so I can deny them! (Reminds me of the anger Jonah had. Jonah 4) Yes, in those scenarios, we clearly need the prayer, that’s just how it is.
Stressful, annoying and aggravating situations have a way of letting us know where our weaknesses are. Don’t be surprised when you let out a barrage of four letter words, that’s where you are weak and you need to recognize it and ask God to help you and deliver you. When Paul was struck by the high priest let out some choice words, in which he repented. (Acts 23:3)
The church has enough issues and problems to deal with than to place guilt, shame and point fingers at each other. If they won’t listen , someone else will, if they don’t believe, someone else will. Many people are willing to take the chance on believing there is no God, that’s just how it is.
I’m not throwing up my hands in surrender, I am merely stating a fact, it doesn’t matter how famous your church is, how famous your bishop is and the great exploits your church has done, when the world see’s that we have “LOVE” for the brethren (each other) See: John 13:35. I believe they will begin to see, their is something to this man called Jesus.
That’s Just How It Is.
