I recall during the first two years of my salvation, I frequently went out street witnessing with a few friends. One night in particular we were outside an alternative dance club late at night where we spoke to some young adults. The Spirit of God was so intensely upon me, I was like a blazing firebrand. A young man to whom we were witnessing accused me of being on cocaine because my eyes were so bright and penetrating. Hmmm…is this possible? Okay, let me build up to my point. Lets start with the word diva, used in the English language in the late 19th century. It is derived from the Italian noun diva, a female deity. The plural of the word in English is “divas”; in Italian, dive [ˈdiːve]. The basic sense of the term is “goddess”. In the 21st century, currently today, the word diva, denotes a women who is well to do (financially), has a great body, career, and look fabulous and oh did I mention very desirable and sexy? If your a member of either denomination, you know exactly what denominations are named in the title. The C.O.G.I.C had its beginnings and affiliations in the Baptist church, yet in this day and time, it seems they will have little to do with each other. I had an interesting visit from members of the Watch Tower. The conversation (although short) was interesting and yet refreshing to talk with a believer who was not shoving his church down my throat and the gentleman was able to introduce Christ on his own merit, meaning he didn’t recite what his pastor had told him.
