The fading of sincerity in churches.

Religion seems to have evolved into that ritual one does to appease God. I can recall the many conversation with believers (those in the church) who attend worship services out of a certain fear or sense of obligation. Could it be that our present time and advancements in today’s society prevent us from truly experiencing true loyalty and duty to the God we say we serve. Where is the service? Most believer they are serving God by singing in the choir, but when the singing is over, they feel relieved as if they met their quota of service. Read more »

What is Salvation?

The Bible has a lot to say about salvation, in fact that is what the whole document certifies to. Church folk often speak of salvation and many there are who consider themselves saved. Some whole denominations are organized around the doctrine of salvation and a commitment to getting people saved. With all this emphasis on the salvation experience and camaraderie amongst the saved, does anyone really understand what this means? No doubt, there are those who can explain what it means using the appropriate words to express this fact in the light of truth, but it seems no one can go beyond this superficial designation. Once Saved, Always Saved? Can I Lose My Salvation?

I would be hard-pressed to find a more contentious issue in the church. Those who believe once-saved-always-saved believe it so strongly that they see it as a necessary belief in order to truly enjoy your salvation. Those who don’t believe it see it as a dangerous teaching that provides a false sense of security. This author holds to the latter view.

First, it is important to realize that saying a prayer is not what gets us saved. Chances are, by now, you’ve said the sinner’s prayer. But that is not what makes you a Christian. Salvation – Is a Person Really Saved When They Believe?

How many times have you been heard that a person is saved when they believe in Jesus? In church we often learn that Christian salvation happens when and because someone believes in Jesus. Is this really true?

While most Christians probably hold to the idea that a person is saved when they believe in Jesus, there are others who hold to the idea that something more than faith is required. In other words, you must believe and have some sort of good works in order for you sins to be forgiven. Read more »
