Reality shows have really caught on in the entertainment industry, I can only imagine how lucrative they must be with the multiple streams of revenue they generate. The church has jumped on the band wagon with their search for the best gospel choir, choir director or solo singer. The participation of a small segment of those affiliated with churches, don’t represent the entire church body, but those participation in these shows are enough to influence the thinking of the rest of the world. I remember watching one particular show and one of the judges had to remind a young singer to maintain a sense of modesty in her attire; not everyone singing gospel music represents what the gospel is all about. The word love is used so much in our society that I often wonders if people really understand the word or the actions that should follow the meaning; not that I am an expert or an authority on the subject.
Our modern dictionaries define love as:
1. A profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2. A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
3. Sexual passion or desire.
4. Affectionate concern for the well-being of others: the love of one’s neighbor. Read more on Love is what it does….

Its a common question asked by anyone attending a church group or Bible study. There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking questions (OK…yes I’m going somewhere with this). With the availability and ready access to information , finding out what the Bible says can be as easy as turning on your computer, reading a commentary or having the patience to learn the answer as you study. I can remember the passage of scripture that says; “ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find…”.
Being curious enough to seek out God and find out more about Him in the Bible is great, asking someone about what does the bible say about…?; without a follow up and close examination to see if theses things spoken are true, is not a good thing and could lead to one accepting error and tradition as truth and then expecting God to honor something He simply did not say or promise. Many things are implied or suggested in pulpits across America and it is the duty of every believer, to search the scripture to “see” if these this said are written and true.
