Of course this is something no leader wants. But, church members could manage to entrench themselves in being satisfied with complacency so that its the norm. Maybe you call it something else ( a dry spell), but if you have the same 25 to 39 members for the past 3 years….something is obviously the matter so many activities going on in many churches, members are satisfied with the routine of going to church, singing in the choir, showing up for prayer, they become bored with the routine itself. We often limit ourselves with erroneous thinking; for instance it is popular to think as well as believe that ministry exists within the four walls of the church and consists of:
- Singing in the choir.
- Ushering
- Play an instrument.
- Service in an official capacity or what ever you do within the four walls of the church.

While talking to a friend the other day, I took note in how someone she described, was described as devout in their religion, the term used was “very active in the church“. Interesting, for many being active in the church equates to being a christian, or equated to serving God which equals “I’m going to heaven”. Read more on How To: Get Active In Your Church…

In the company of believers you hear all sort of cliches, fancy words of the christian vernacular, the problem with these words and phrases is that many of them are useless and empty. Being christian does not make you exempt from life’s problems. Although one might spend their time in much prayer, you still must interact with the rest of the worlds population and you will encounter other people with real problems.
How do you exhort, how do you minister to someone without forcing your way of thinking at them? Are you out to get them to join your church? Or, are you seeking to lead them to salvation in Jesus Christ? Speaking in the King James English (quoting bible verses) is enough to turn someone away because you give the impression that you can not relate to what they are feeling. Telling someone to “just pray” about it really falls short of helping when you as a believer should be able to empathize with what they are feeling. Read more on God uses people….
