The Silence of the…sheep.

Do you hear that? Its so quiet, you can hear a pin drop, Oh..Its the silence of the sheep. It seems that many believers are afraid to speak up when they see inappropriate behavior or hear something taught in Bible study. Its one thing to be mistaken when you teach something, but to simple implement a  passage of scripture as doctrine is totally another. Read more »

Forsake Not The Assembly

Assembly is a noun, and denotes a gathered body. Assembling is a verb, indicating the action of gathering together. To forsake–abandon–the action, or practice, of gathering with fellow-believers is quite different than occasionally missing one such assembly.

When Hebrews 10:21-25 is read in its context you will see the Hebrews were leaving their new found faith in Jesus Christ only to return to the Law of Moses. In today’s churches, I can understand the purpose in warning believers against their infrequent participation in worship services.  The less that your around the people of God, you stand a better chance of reverting back to your former ways.

But, to use this passage of scripture to say to the people of God, they will go to hell for missing church services or they must be in attendance every time the church doors are open is misleading and manipulating people.

Preachers and teachers, why not tell and teach the truth and tell the completed store when you tell it and teach it?

Unconditional love on the condition of…

We hear the word unconditional used in many ways and one of the most common I believer is when it is used in the church when talking about the unconditional love of God toward people. The other method the word unconditional is used is in the conversation of christian people when talking about the unconditional love of the husband towards the wife.

Love with our conditions sound nice and we are so ready to embrace such love coming from the cross (as Christ died for the sins of man) but when it comes to showing this type of love towards each other, its on the condition of.  Even in the marriage vows, we promises unto each other in the site of God (or the justice of the peace) what we will do and how we will love, yada, yada, yada; on the conditions that…and in comes the fine print.  The following conditions apply. Is their a condition to salvation? Only believe. Read more »
