I couldn’t resist the opportunity to root for the saints on this particular day. I realize that many of you might not be sports fans but I wanted to acknowledged the fact that we contend with many issues during the day but in the end we win and before it starts, we’ve won because of the team we’re on. We have an amazing head coach and only one referee whose constantly doing an outstanding job no matter what the play is.
Yes it may be superbowl Sunday and one of the playing teams happens to be the Saints. The saints that I am refering to in today’s post are the pople of God. While you may be rooting for your favorite football team, daily I’m rooting for the people of God that endure the harships and difficulties that we face every day. Be encouraged and of God cheer, Jesus Christ has overcome!
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (Jude 1:24) KJV
Go Saints of God!

You’ve heard it said countless times by many…”I speak my mind…” It’s like a badge of honor, if you don’t like what someone says, you speak what’s on your mind. So many free thinkers and out spoken people are passionate about speaking the truth (relative to them) about a matter. How unfortunate for those of us who can’t control their untimely outburst of words when they feel they’re in an uncomfortable situation.
Speaking you mind can be a good thing when tempered with a little wisdom, it can also be a bad thing when the one exercising that right, uses a poor choice of words in a demeaning, spiteful and malicious way. Words are powerful and I think that goes without saying. In fact words carry such an impact, educators are careful to use the right choice of words when educating our children, politicians choose their words carefully because stocks can rise or fall when use a selection of words and reputations are destroyed over the use of wrong words. News anchors can sensationalize a story or vilify a person with their words. Words can lift, insult and yes…hurt. In our present society, no one cares about hurting your feelings. As we communicate and often speak the contents of our hearts in the heat of a disagreement, those same words can shape a relationship into something less that desirable. Families have split and relationships have become strained by the words we choose to use. How about silence or the absence of words? It’s possible for the absence of words to hurt worse that someone speaking their mind in a negative manner.
