How can the church (the people) belong to the pastor and The people (the church) belong to God also? Can you really have it both ways? Remember the question and the title, it will come up again.
While reading an article from a national churches web site (The Mother Boards Forum), there were many things written that had me scratching my head. Tradition can be beneficial in teaching how things were done or maybe how things should be done. Tradition can also be a dangerous thing in the life of a believer and in the church, for instance; when times and methods change, tradition will keep you out dated and out of touch with the reality that things have really changed. Many people in the church will listen to the things said by the leadership, if they have questions, they won’t ask, they just follow. I don’t understand how this equates to obedience when you do something that your gut tells you is questionable.
This is what I mean, in the forum about church mothers (reference is below), it states that and I quote: “She (the church mother) is to a pastor in the local church what a wife is to her husband at home.” WHAT! Should not the person writing this article add more clarity?
No, my mind is not in the gutter, anyone having been in the church for some time will realize their are some traditions that simply will not fly in this day and time. If I travel to another church for an engagement, my wife is coming along as my companion and my help. I know the writer did not mean this literally, but figuratively is not good either. I realize that the wife is a “helpmate” to her husband (also her pastor) at home, but she is more things than a helpmate to her husband (if the marriage is to last). Why can’t the wife of the Pastor help him in the church if she is truly his helpmate?
come back for the conclusion of this post
Find out what is wrong with this statement: Its the pastors church, but the Lords people.

People seemed to be consumed with, what belongs to them. We have my phone, my car, my salvation, my church, my pastor, my way or the highway and my life. Social network are growing in popularity (that’s an understatement) and Christians (or those who use to call themselves that) are flocking to theses social networks putting themselves on display. Today was an interesting day, while reading a post from another blog, I was truly amazed at how some believers church folk will look the other way at injustices in the church, blatant sin, the fleecing and manipulation of Gods people. The blog post was about an infamous prophetess and her rise to notoriety. One reader that responded to that blog, asked some valid questions and stated an opinion (which was relevant as it pertained to this prophet). Another blogger responded the the post with the comment” Judge not, Lest ye be judged”. Read more on Judge not and feigning ignorance….
