Fellowship is a word most seldom heard in many black churches. Membership, on the other hand, is what many churches strive to increase. What good is a large membership if true fellowship is lacking? I find it amazing, you could miss a month of Sundays and when you show up, those greeting you say how much they missed you and they were thinking about you. It seems those who missed you so dearly, could not pick up the phone to check on you and the pastor seemingly has no time for one sheep who strays from their flock. I remember the days when fellowship at the local church was a real place to connect and get encouraged in the faith. Read more on Going back to church, what I’m not looking forward to….

The word love is used so much in our society that I often wonders if people really understand the word or the actions that should follow the meaning; not that I am an expert or an authority on the subject.
Our modern dictionaries define love as:
1. A profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2. A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
3. Sexual passion or desire.
4. Affectionate concern for the well-being of others: the love of one’s neighbor. Read more on Love is what it does….
