Raising Church Attendance

by nlewis on March 27, 2012 · 0 comments

Before the decline of our economy over the past few years, church leaders are thinking of ways to raise their church attendance. Churches found they were affected by the down turn in the economy just like many businesses. Many churches run their church like it is a business; I see nothing wrong with this if your bottom line is souls, hows many people can you lead into the Kingdom of God?

I would think my focus (If I were a Pastor)… would be to focus on the needs of people rather than see how many I can get to fill the pews. There are many people that will simple not come into the church building and be told or instructed on when, where, why, and how. If the scripture can be presented and allow the Gods Spirit through the spoken word to do the job, I believe people will want to be in a place where they are spiritually feed, encouraged and are allowed to express their love for God in the way they are comfortable with. Some many not express then selves with loud outbursts of praise or run around the pews as if they are on fire.

What happened to the people that once attended? Why did they leave? When I was with a popular Internet service provider, they inquired as to why I left, they wanted me back. Many companies will stay in touch with their customer base to maintain their customer base.
