For everyone who prays for a revival in their life, and their ministry, or their community, you must read this! There is a word from the Lord that you must hear. I will share this word and leave to you to discern if this word is for you or not, if it is from the Lord or not.
Revival is not coming until we get a bigger picture!Revival is not coming just because we want one or just because we need one. It is not coming just because we ask for it. We do need it, and we should pray for it, and it will come, but only when we get in step with the Holy Spirit. We want the right thing, and we ask for the right thing, but often we are not in step sufficiently for the Spirit to move in any significant way to produce the revival we long for. What is it then we need to know?
What would revival mean to us if God should pour out of His Spirit upon us? That is an important question to answer. What will it mean for God? This is a more important question that must be answered, and in the answer, is the key to the move of the Spirit we long for. So this is the question I will address in this article.
What is in it for God? We know what it will mean for us. But have we considered what it will mean to heart of God, for Him to pour out His Spirit on us. There is so much more to this than just what we get out of it. We seem to ask for a revival from the position of what it will do for us. The key, is learning to ask for revival from the point of view of what it will mean for God, Himself.
We go to God in prayer and tell Him we need a revival. Can’t you just see Him say, I know I was the One who let you know about it. It is in your heart to desire revival because it was in My heart first. So we don’t need to inform God of what He already knows. How then should we pray?
Have we ever just asked our Father, how would You like to pour out Your Spirit, how do You want to bring this revival, what way would glorify You best and bring You pleasure. We know we need this outpouring because You have made us aware of our need, but how do You want to go about it Lord?
Maybe it is more important to ask for a revival because of what God our Father will get out of it. We will be blessed for sure. But what does it bring to Him, how does it bring pleasure to Him?
God wants the whole earth to be filled with the knowledge of His glory. The glory of God is His goodness. God wants the whole earth filled the knowledge His goodness! It is the goodness of God that leads man to repentance. It is the overwhelming goodness of God that He wants the whole earth to come to the experiential knowledge of. He is not satisfied with us just knowing about it, He wants us to experience it, and be transformed by it. This is what is pleasing to Him when He pours out a revival on us.
A revival for God means that the whole world will get to experience His goodness, to taste a see how good God is. This is what He is after. So how do we pray? We must pray led of the Holy Spirit. We will pray more in step with the Spirit when we capture this heart cry. God we need a revival and we ask You to pour it for Your sake, so the whole world will know how good You are by displaying Your goodness toward Your children. We need a revival but we want it to bless You and to bring You the glory that is Yours and we want Your heart to be pleased to do so.
We need a bigger picture, we need a bigger prayer, we need a bigger heart, we need a bigger reason for the revival we seek. Our personal reviving is great, and is needed, but it is not asking big enough.
