I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…
For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’
~Romans 16a, 17 (NIV).
For many years I professed to be a Christian and never lived that way. Sure, I had more than a passing interest in the Bible and I prayed–at meals we even said grace. But that was about it as far as living the Christian faith was concerned. Read more on Ashamed of the Gospel? From Romans 1:16-17…

Christian life in the modern world seems to revolve around local church buildings, called churches. These buildings are so central to Western Christianity that almost all worship, praise, fellowship and prayer services take place in them. Almost all evangelistic activity takes place in churches where “seekers” are invited to meetings. In fact, many who attend church services question the faith of those who claim to be Christian and who live a Christian life in all respects except that they don’t go to church. What is the truth? Is church attendance a mere practice of religion or is it necessary to find peace with God? Read more on Does Christian Church Need Churches…

New Revised Standard with Apocrypha
Hebrews 10:35 Do not, therefore, abandon that confidence of yours; it brings a great reward.
The writer of Hebrews is telling us to hold on to our confidence because it brings a great reward. One translation says, Do not lose your fearlessness. Another translation says,
Ye may not cast away, then, your boldness. These are some different ways of saying
the same thing, confidence has a reward, and we need to be confident in order to receive it.
We should be able to go before our Father with great confidence and boldness.
My question is how can we get that kind of boldness or confidence before God, and is it something every believer automatically has? I believe we can find the answer to these questions, as always, in God’s Word. Read more on How We Can Have Confidence Before God…

The word of God in Mark 11:25 says “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” That is powerful. That means if you still can not stand the girl in the third grade that colored on your pretty picture, you have to forgive her so your sins may be forgiven. The word says if you hold anything against anyone you must forgive – including things you hold against yourself! Read more on Forgiving You…
