Parable of the Prodigal Son

April 22, 2012

The parable shows us the true nature of repentance and the Lord’s readiness to welcome and bless those who return to him. When we turn from the darkness of sin to the light of eternal life, God opens our eyes and convinces us of our sin. There is unspeakable happiness of all the children of God who keep close to God, because they are, and ever shall be, ever with him. Jesus uses the parable to teach about God’s grace and acceptance of people who have been rejected by society.

April 22, 2012

Do we put off the old man at Baptism or not, for there are some who think we should be doing it on an on going basis or in a never ending process of doing it forever and a day. Sound like salvation by works dressed up in new clothes? You bet your life it does, but then it never surprises me the 1,001 ways the Adversary cooks up his recipes of blasphemous deceptions and all eagerly served and dished up at table by ravening wolf waiters at a church restaurant near you. Please note, spiritual food poisoning is a regular hazard at these restaurants, so you have been warned in Godly love.
