Such enthusiasm, such dedication and faithfulness have I seen from believers that are focused on simple one thing…Making it to Heaven. As I recall from my former days of traditional thinking, it takes all the activity that one can attend and participate in and then some to make it into Heaven. What kind of activity? Faithfully attend Bible Study and every service that is held 3-4 times a week; faithfully give when asked and even postdate those checks if you don’t have the money; lift your hands, say “Praise the Lord” when prompted , sound familiar?
We get so consumed by selfish and senseless activity that we forget that we are ministers of reconciliation, what about that visitor sitting next to you that is hurting? What about that elderly couple that has never had a member from their church come to their home to share a dinner with? How can you possibly show your neighbors what its like to live a Godly life in this present world when your in the sanctuary three to four days a week (not including choir rehearsal, and meetings).
The Focus should be on “show and tell” show the world by example and when they have seen what a Godly life is like then we can effectively tell them about the saving grace found in Jesus Christ.
