Let the church say amen.

You might hear the word amen at any time in a worship service. Sometimes you will hear the same word at work when someone is saying something with passion that makes sense and is the truth.  You will always get the cold stare or strange looks from church members when something is said that makes no sense and if it makes no sense more than likely you disagree and there will be silence among the congregation.

The extreme of this is, when the congregation does not like the speaker, they will kill the preachers enthusiasm and confidence by remaining silent, thus signifying they do not support nor do they agree with this person. The word amen signifies that you agree with what was said and or what was said is so. When you say amen you are saying “I agree, It is so”;  this is why listening during the preached word is vital and important.  Why agree with something that you don’t understand?  Its done in churches all across America.

Believers will sit and listen to a preacher and get caught up in their perfect homiletic style  and improper exegesis of their text and we say “Amen they are anointed of God” and all you got was a good show. When these preacher can’t get an amen off the merit of their words alone they invoke the “Let The Church say Amen” and like clock work we say amen in unison. All too often most believers are afraid to not say amen, too afraid to disagree and will not search Gods word for them selves. Who will you listen to God or man?

Listen to the preacher or the one teaching and take a look at Acts 17:11, look at what they did after they heard the word.  Before you say amen, know what you are agreeing to, is it so? Is it true?
