Its Easy To Follow The Crowd – It takes courage to stand out from it!

by nlewis on January 1, 2012 · 0 comments

Its real easy to follow the crowd, that was my first thought on last week, as I posted some links to YouTube videos about crooked preachers. Wow…was the word  crooked over the top? Many believers would think so. They find it easy to follow the masses and its safe to stand still, say nothing because they don’t want to rock the boat. Its easier to go along with the program when the leadership knows the right words to hold you hostage to the things you don’t believe on know about.

As I watched the videos posted from last week, I watched in amazement at the many Christians falling for the tricks and schemes of these crooked teachers. We have no problem calling a politician crooked, but a preacher with a celebrity status, “you better watch out what you say” ; unfortunately that how many believer feel. So, be quiet, don’t say a word, go along with the program and let God work it out…right? This is exactly why these preacher, who cares nothing about your eternal destiny grow like algae in a cesspool, oh wait… algae is not commonly found in a cesspool. Fear and manipulation runs rampant in many church; God bless the pastors and leaders who stay true to Gods Word and the faithful members who verify whats being taught because when they get home to look it up for themselves. You are in the wrong place as a believer, when your intimidated or discouraged from asking questions about a doctrine or practice in your place of worship.

Seldom will believers (the timid ones) ask questions, they are too afraid of what the other believers will say and they definitely don’t want t appear to the pastor as disobedient. It take courage to stand out from the holiness, pentecostal and apostolic crowd that manages to intimidate the weak and fool the strong. You should question anything that comes across the pulpit, that does not line up with the word of God and anything that is not clearly supported by scripture. Never say “Amen” (it is so) to anything you don’t understand, you should never allow yourself to get caught up in all the emotionalism in worship services, that causes to to nod your head (as if your were hypnotized) and the nest thing you know, you are agreeing to something you don’t understand.  Since many Christians will not do a careful and through examination of the scripture, they wont know truth from fabrication, this is another reason why crooked preached thrive…in mega churches…individuals will follow the crowd!
