It’s for them.
Have you ever wondered the purpose of fruit? What’s it for? Fruits like, beautiful red apples, ripe grapes, melons and delicious strawberries. The one thing they all have in common is seeds; seeds are vital and key for the reproduction of these fruit bearing plants; as we remember from our science 101 classes. When fruit bearing plants are in their natural habitat and they bear fruit, seeds are moved about by the wildlife that eats the fruit.Okay, I can tell your wondering where I’m going with this. I’m thinking of a spiritual application to fruit and the seeds they bear for reproduction. Likewise, believers are to bear fruit. For what purpose is this fruit? The Book of John (chapter 15v16) states: “You did not choose me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain…”
Believers are to be fruit bearing saints and it takes time for a healthy plant/tree to bear fruit. Once the fruit has begun to grow, there is some time before its ready for consumption. Unfortunately some believer bear bad fruit, bitter fruit and it is also unfortunate that type of fruit has seeds also. Seeds of envy, bitterness, hatred can also spread as others partake of this bad fruit. I understand that vineyards have a method in growing grapes that causes the grapes to produce a sweet
juice. These grapes are made to struggle in extracting (transpiration) moisture from the soil, they are not watered for the sake of watering them, their seeds are planted at a certain depth, they are planted at a specified distance apart and only watered when needed; this method produces a quality grape with make a splendid wine.
Believers go through many everyday problems that non believers experience. When trouble shows up, believers get in a panic over sudden trouble and forget that God is right there (example: Matt 14:22-27), we call Him and it seems that He doesn’t answer. Our experience in difficult times produces a strength and character that is something for other believers to grasp a hold of, they need your experience.
The fruit that we bear in difficult times, the fruit that we bear under pressure, and the fruit that we bear in the midst of chaos…are the seeds for other believers and non believers to take in and be strengthen by. The fruit that you bear is essential for the reproduction of another strong believer! Bear your trials, bear your burden, hold you head up and go through. Why? Someone else is waiting for your testimony, your witness that “I CAN MAKE IT TOO…!.
Take a look at what 2nd Corinthians 1:3-4 states:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Compassion, and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God”
