Going to heaven anyhow!

by nlewis on July 30, 2011 · 0 comments

Wow, just imaging that. You can live like you want, intimidate other church members, have an abrasive disposition and still say, “I’m going to heaven any how”! There are many slick words and religious jargon used by church members. Holiness doesn’t start at the beginning of church service and end at the benediction. There is much shaking and tongue speaking in the *OCIG but when the closing prayer is given, the real person shows up outside the front door.

Why does Going Against The Grain write about the thing we like to sweep under the religious rug and look the other way when we leave the place of fellowship? Many churches and members are in denial. Why cant we (the church) see that something is wrong?  The world knows it and the new babes in Christ know it.  We can quote a great number of fancy cliches (some with no spiritual truth or meaning), gossip (on twitter and face book) about each other, and go to church on Sunday and speak in tongues and we wonder why the church still has 50 members.

Going Against The Grain

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
