Go Saints Go!

Remember the Superbowl 44 champs?  While thinking of an analogy to encourage believers, I though of the winners of Superbowl 44.  Before the start of this great event, I was out earlier in the day, my wife told me that the New Orleans Saints were playing in the Super Bowl. I actually forgot who was in the Super Bowl because I’m not a real sports enthusiast, I’m more of the technology type, but I could not resist watching this team.

After more than 44 years and this was the NFL teams first time in the Superbowl, the New Orleans Saints.  In this team making it against the odds, I could not help but to think about the people of God and the odds we seem to face.  Sometimes you may wonder, when your time is, when will you see the light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes you might lose control of the (ball) situation and regain it later in the game, you may even get an interception if you don’t lose hope. Everything does not always go in the favor of the opposing team.The Saints of God always win and always come out on top! Although it may not seem like it, you opposition, your troubles and negative circumstances of life can actually prepare you for that super bowl to come in your life. My excitement is not because of who won the super bowl, I’m excited that I am able to be in th game. I’m excited to be a contender of the faith. Even in the church building you may find yourself  having to contend for what you believe is right, you must protect your heart and mind from opposing points of view and traditions that have no foundation in Gods word.  After so many years of being overlooked or being the underdog, your in the game.

I am sitting here watching the game while preparing this post and when you look for something encouraging or something that you can use as a metaphor or analogy to inspire or encourage the people of God, this was it.  Even if the Saints lose this game (I doubt it with a score of  31 -17), they are still winners because they made it past all the other teams during the season to accomplish a first in franchise history.

To the Saints in New Orleans,to the Saints all across the USA,  to the Saints in Asia, to the Saints in Russia, France, Sweden, Korea, China and those reading this post, stay in the game, stay in the race, you can be down 10 to nothing and come back to win!
