You don’t have to be a great orator, have a PHD or hail from a well known theological seminary, you simply need to know what it is that you believe(why would help also). According to 1 Peter 3:15, we should be ready to give every man an answer that’s will ask you the reason of the hope that you have. What is it you can answer? I believe that anyone can answer intelligently as to why they believe, what they believe; if by reading this you find that you can not give an answer, call this your first assignment. Reality shows have really caught on in the entertainment industry, I can only imagine how lucrative they must be with the multiple streams of revenue they generate. The church has jumped on the band wagon with their search for the best gospel choir, choir director or solo singer. The participation of a small segment of those affiliated with churches, don’t represent the entire church body, but those participation in these shows are enough to influence the thinking of the rest of the world. I remember watching one particular show and one of the judges had to remind a young singer to maintain a sense of modesty in her attire; not everyone singing gospel music represents what the gospel is all about. She was an honor roll student, she worked very hard all her life to make it to her senior year only to be denied the honor of walking across the stage…with her friends. Why? She failed one of the required tests that she needs to graduate. Wow…how could a honors student, fail a required test to graduate? I realize it’s possible, but isn’t that what separates good from great? Qualified from unqualified, ready from not ready? There is no way, I would want a doctor, who studied for years, and fails to pass the board certification to perform heart surgery. Should the board make an exception because he was an honors student? The Saints don’t call each other on the phone to just say hello; The reason why we don’t lift our hands in the Sanctuary to Praise the Lord; The reason why we don’t
Greet one another after the worship service…
The reason why…
We don’t invite to Sunday school, don’t respond or listen to sound doctrine and just sit
In a daze while the preacher preaches.
The reason why? We are not living right!
Could it be, there is no thirst or hunger for the things of God?
Return to God, return to His word, don’t compromise!
